Sennelier was born in 1887, when Gustave Sennelier, passionate about chemistry, established himself as a color merchant. He works on the origin of the pigments, the manufacturing procedures, the mixtures and the fastness of the colors.

From then on, the Sennelier house has been a meeting point for artists. There is a creative effervescence and daily exchanges will lead to new techniques and unique colors. Since then, the extra-fine Sennelier colors have been present in most major museums.
